Death (Not all poems can be about spring)

Death

most don't say it

some scared to tempt it

others cannot imagine it

some fear it

others blame it

see an unfairness to it

some glad to see it

all face it

just the same

some run toward it

some run away from it

some cry out for it

others try to outrun it

young dont know it

youth wearing their badge of

immortality challenge it

middle age become indifferent to it

or risk averse

and weary of it

old may try to avoid it

most see the inevitability of it

others their bones

or minds ache for it

some greet it

see a long awaited sleep through it

or a gateway opened by it

while others see the full stop.

we are often shocked by it

see the loss of it

and grieve the space

left by it
